There is a good chance that at some point, you have heard the phrase, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Yes, that can be true, but there are some distinct features that make someone physically more attractive to the common eye.
Through continued evolution, humans still seek basic essentials in a mate: good health, superior genes, and fertility.
Our brains subconsciously scan other people for these traits through a person’s body and facial features. Clear, smooth skin, and a symmetrical face convey health, portray a youthful look, and are indicators of a person’s genetics. When it comes to child bearing, men are more likely to find women that have big eyes, a thin jaw, and high cheekbones more attractive, as these characteristics depict health and youth.
There are some women though that only need one of these features to be a knockout – high cheekbones. It is difficult to believe this woman is a day over 25, but in reality, she is 38, married, and has a child. Those strong cheekbones and tight skin keep Kerry Washington looking young and made her an easy pick for the lead character in Scandal, a political thriller on ABC that has had quite a bit of success.
There is no doubting why she ranked 65th on Maxim’s Hot 100 list in 2014. She’s super hot! Along with her stunning beauty, she has proved herself academically by graduating from George Washington University, and then furthering her education by going on to study acting at NYU. So she has beauty and brains. Great combination.

From money to looks, Rooney Mara appears to have it all. She comes from a lineage of wealth, as her great grandfather founded the Pittsburgh Steelers football franchise. It was not until she was 19, and at NYU, that she pursued acting appearing in student films, while auditioning for small TV and movie roles.

Jennifer Garner‘s road to fame started with Alias, a TV series in the early 2000s, in which she starred as Agent Sydney Bristow. She can also be seen in many notable movies, such as Pearl Harbor, 13 Going on 30, and Daredevil, where she met Ben Affleck, whom she is in the midst of divorcing because of his alleged bachelor ways. The two have a child.
Easily, she snatched multiple number one spots on top beauty lists, and while continuing to look sexy at all times, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and kickboxing. I still can’t understand why Ben couldn’t hang on to a beautiful woman like Jennifer Garner.

The first of Cara Delevingne’s recent lovers makes the list: Michelle Rodriguez. The two dated for about six months back in 2014; those who knew them, described the relationship as intense.

The movie did, however, prove her worth as one of Hollywood’s best actresses.

If you’re looking for the best women cheekbones in history, look no further. Tegan and Sara have the most intense facial structure, instantly making them so sexy. These twins form the indie pop duo Tegan and Sara. They have sold nearly 1 million albums, and have worked with some of the world’s best DJs and acts, including Tiesto, David Guetta, The Killers, Neil Young, etc. Their breakthrough song, “Walking with a Ghost” was even covered by The White Stripes.

In 2005, The Daily Mail named her “Actress of the Year.” Kiera has also received recognition by Forbes for being one of the most powerful celebrities, and it should go without saying that she topped many sexiest women lists.
1. Cara Delevingne
The biggest “it girl” right now is Cara Delevingne. This model-turned-actress has been the main sight of the press this past year, as she continues her transition from a model to actor. Cara can be seen in Paper Towns. She also recently finished filming for next summer’s highly anticipated action film, Suicide Squad.
Cara is loved for her carefree and silly attitude; she often flashes ridiculous faces at paparazzi. She does not define her sexuality, and instead chooses to live by her motto, “stop labelling, start living.” She is currently dating another beautiful woman on this list, St. Vincent.
