Huawei has announced Mate S, the company’s latest smartphone in the Mate series at the IFA, as expected. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, is powered by a Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 935 SoC based on big.LITTLE configuration and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Emotion UI 3.1 on top. It has a force touch display that perceives different levels of pressure on the screen, allowing the user to complete different actions such as zooming in to a photo or launching an app by applying increasing pressure.
It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, optical image stabilization and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash for capturing better selfies. It has a uni-body metal finish. It also has hybrid dual SIM support and comes with highly sensitive Fingerprint Sense 2.0 fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone. It has a 2700mAh battery, which is less for a powerful phone.
